Modern Fuel's Annual General Meeting will be taking place on Thursday May 31st at 7pm in the Main Gallery. All members are encouraged to attend and cast their votes towards the future of our lovely organization. Updates on last year's programming, operations, and events will take place along with an update on our facility relocation campaign.

Free 30th Anniversary limited addition buttons will be given out to all members, along with a free gift package for the first 25 members through the door.

On July 10th 2007 Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre’s Facility Relocation Committee meet to discuss solutions and action plans for the Centre’s eventual relocation. Out of this meeting arose interest in gathering information from other arts organizations in the City facing similar circumstances.

Carla Henderson, Modern Fuel's NMW Coordinator, and Troy Leaman, Modern Fuel Board Member and NMW Committee Chair, invite members to attend a meeting to discuss, amongst other things: what the membership wants to see from the NMW, priorities for the NMW for the coming year, possible funding sources, and potential opportunities for the NMW to collaborate with Modern Fuel gallery exhibitions.

Annual General Meeting

Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre will be holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for 2007-2008 on Sunday June 15th 2008 at 3pm here in the Gallery (21A Queen St.). This meeting is open to all members in good standing. An agenda for the meeting will be sent out to all members within the next couple of weeks.

Focus on the Arts All Candidates Meeting

7:30 PM on October 12 at Portsmouth Olympic Harbour

Please come out to the All Candidates Meeting to hear what candidates have to say about the arts and culture in your city. This coming election will be critical for the arts and we must elect an arts-friendly council! Candidates have been provided with a list of questions, but after the formal part of the meeting, members of the audience will also have the opportunity to ask questions. Kingston arts supporter Brian Osborne will be the moderator for the evening.


Syphon in Stockholm

Modern Fuel travels to Sweden in February for the SUPERMARKET Art Fair at the Kulturhuset in the centre of Stockholm. SUPERMARKET is a showcase for artists’ initiatives from all over the world that creates opportunities for new networks in the Swedish and international art scenes. The last exhibition presented more than 70 artist-run galleries and similar initiatives from 25 countries. In addition to the exhibition, the event includes a seminar programme, a performance art stage and a meeting programme for networking.
