Modern Fuel presents a Holiday Season Spectacular!

From 6-9pm we will be hosting a holiday bazaar complete with crafts for sale, games, bake sales and holiday music courtesy of DJ LK. Start the holidays off right by Fueling up on gifts for your loved ones!

9pm onwards there will be a 'pay what you can' concert featuring Benjamin Nelson solo, Annie Clifford and Cities Turned to Sand.

We will be running a 'Seasonal Bar' all night featuring egg nog and other holiday spirits!

Soul Shakedown: Dias de los Muertos

SoulShakedown parties aim to bring the best in rare dance grooves from funk, soul to Latin, Brazilian, Pan-African, Arabic, Asian Dub, Bhangra and more. The night will start with a downtempo lounge from 9-10 and then will be dance heavy thereafter.

Premiere of The Gertrudes Music Video

Come celebrate Halloween with a costume party and video release. The Gertrudes, a nine-person ensemble playing instruments ranging from banjo to theremin will release their first music video, directed by Lenny Epstein, on Friday night. In addition to the premiere release and concert from the Gertrudes there will be special exhibit in the State of Flux Gallery.

MODERN FUEL ARTIST-RUN CENTRE is now accepting applications for a unique and dynamic summer job opportunity in the field of contemporary art!

As the Co-ordinator of Archival Promotion and Dissemination (CAPD) for Modern Fuel’s website and its 30th Anniversary exhibition catalogue, the selected applicant will work full-time hours for 8 weeks.

Annual General Meeting

Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre will be holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for 2007-2008 on Sunday June 15th 2008 at 3pm here in the Gallery (21A Queen St.). This meeting is open to all members in good standing. An agenda for the meeting will be sent out to all members within the next couple of weeks.

Back by popular demand, Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre will once again host the popular Show Your Shorts Video Festival on Friday June 6th 2008. The screening, beginning at 7:30pm in the Modern Fuel Gallery (21A Queen St.), will feature a number of short films created by people from, or with ties to, Kingston's Queer community. Please don't forget to wear your shorts if you got 'em!
