On July 10th 2007 Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre’s Facility Relocation Committee meet to discuss solutions and action plans for the Centre’s eventual relocation. Out of this meeting arose interest in gathering information from other arts organizations in the City facing similar circumstances.
On August 8th at 8pm, we invite other arts groups to elect one representative from their organization, to prepare a brief statement, lasting no more than 10 minutes, that will present the circumstances of their current space challenges. Modern Fuel will also do a 10 minute presentation on our own situation. Through these presentations, we hope to explore the possibility of putting together a coalition of arts groups to explore synergies between city-owned properties and to discuss common issues relating to this situation. The goal of this meeting is to share knowledge, experience, and contacts in order to arrive at solutions to our common problems, whether those solutions are reached collectively or not.
