As someone with a taste for art and culture, you won’t want to miss Good Tastes, the annual silent art auction fundraiser hosted by Modern Fuel Artist Run Centre. The auction will be held on Saturday, November 7th from 7 pm – 9 pm at Modern Fuel, 21 Queen Street. This year, Modern Fuel is bringing it back to the basics. This “no frills” evening is all about the art, with live music, appetizers, door prizes, and a cash bar.
This year’s Good Tastes will feature some of Kingston's and Canada’s foremost artists including: Melanie Authier, Jo-Anne Balcaen, Sarindar Dhaliwal, Ben Darrah, Dave Gordon, Robert Linsley, Jennifer Long, Marissa Portolese, Mark Thompson, Deborah Margo, Melanie McDonald, Pat McDermott, Christine D’Onofrio, Aly Ogasion, Dan Oxley, June Pak, Ted Rettig, Chantal Rousseau, Scott Wallis, Margaux Williamson, J.T. Winick, Lynne Wynick and more! We are proud that all of these fantastic artists have been previously involved with Modern Fuel. Each participating artist is donating between 60% to 100% of the sale of their work to the gallery. Kingston Frameworks is generously donating framing coupons for all pieces of unframed sold work.
The works of art will be on display at the gallery and open for advance bidding from November 3 to November 7. Gallery hours are noon to 5 pm. Bids may be placed in person or through Modern Fuel’s bidding Hotline: 613-548-4883. If you are unable to make the auction, and still want to buy a work, this Hotline will be open during the event from 7 to 9 pm. Bidding will close at 9 pm sharp on November 7th.
All funds raised will go towards Modern Fuel’s programming costs. Modern Fuel is a not-for-profit Artist-Run centre that supports innovation and experimentation in contemporary art. We showcase provocative work by emerging and mid-career Canadian artists from diverse cultural communities.
