State of Flux, Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre

Modern Fuel is pleased to present Harry Symons in our State of Flux gallery. The work is an evolving installation in the form of a set of growing clusters of paintings. Inspired by the vines crawling along Kingston’s brick walls, the installation will sprout and expand as the exhibition period progresses, with viewers able to revisit the gallery to witness its transformation.

Harry Symons is a visual artist who has focused his energies on painting, evolving installations and evolving installations of paintings. He studied Fine Arts at the Banff School of Arts, the University of Manitoba and Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University. Solo exhibitions include Plug In ICA, SAW Gallery, <Site> Gallery and the Sandra Whitton Gallery. He has also participated in exhibitions at the Canadian Centre for Architecture, the Winnipeg Art Gallery and the Art Gallery of Calgary. Following his participation in the 2014 iteration of Modern Fuel’s Your Own Grad School (YOGS) he joined and exhibited with the Agitated Plover Salon, an artist collective consisting of artists who had participated in YOGS. He is currently based in Kingston, ON.
