January 13 to February 24, 2018

Opening Reception: Saturday, January 13 from 5-8pm

Main Gallery, Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre

Through installations and digital interventions, this exhibition will explore ingrained customs and everyday rituals. Each work questions how and why these distinct societal routines exist, while simultaneously bringing attention to the complex frameworks that structure these unconscious exercises in everyday life. When organized together, each artist identifies and questions the extra-ordinary context involved within many practiced human rituals.

Matthew Kyba's curatorial interests centre on experimental programming, as well as fostering collaborative and critical dialogue between artists and communities. He holds an MFA in Criticism and Curatorial Practice from OCADU and was recently hired as the Gallery Director of Forest City Gallery in London, Ontario.
