Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre is hosting a party to launch its unique deck of playable Art Cards: come celebrate with us and get your first look at this collectible object! Projected to be one of Modern Fuel’s most significant fundraising events this year, the cards will, at the same time, raise the profile of contemporary artists within Kingston and its environs.

After last year's phenomenal Solid Gold party, Modern Fuel's team of creatives went back into the lab and cooked up "Spotlight Noir." A Black and/or White dress code will be in effect. DJs include Sélavy, Yakul, and Willy Blake. Doors open at 9pm, Saturday, September 11, 2010.

SLOW DANCE
DJs haircut, LK and Abdell Drums (Paul, Laura and Blake) will keep the slow jams coming all night. Designated dancers will be mingling throughout the crowd, getting people up on the floor.
Doors open at 8pm. Party goes to 1:30am.
Dance cards, festive drinks, candy and cheesy decorations will abound.
Dress code: semi-formal to formal. Knock us dead. ...or whatever
This is a fundraiser for Modern Fuel.

As someone with a taste for art and culture, you won’t want to miss Good Tastes, the annual silent art auction fundraiser hosted by Modern Fuel Artist Run Centre. The auction will be held on Saturday, November 7th from 7 pm – 9 pm at Modern Fuel, 21 Queen Street. This year, Modern Fuel is bringing it back to the basics. This “no frills” evening is all about the art, with live music, appetizers, door prizes, and a cash bar.

A disco-themed dance party featuring the cool groove stylings of DJ’s LK, Sealegs, and Helen @ 10pm, preceeded by a sound-art performance by Craig Leonard @ 8pm. Doors open @ 8pm.

Remember your high school dance parties? Love YouTube? Remember those nights when you were dancing by yourself along with your favourite songs streaming over YouTube? Come to Modern Fuel Friday April 24th for a YouTube Dance Party and join everyone else who likes to do that, but in public. We will be projecting YouTube onto our walls and taking every and any request for great songs and videos. Together we will DJ. Members get in free as part of our Membership Drive. Cash Bar.
