Bring your ascots and comically-oversized reading glasses to Novel Idea on Tuesday October 19 and join us for an evening of papers, paper books, and paper tigers. We will be launching:

-The most recent issue of Syphon, Modern Fuel's arty newspaper, which smuggles in another serving of the "Hot Turkey Sandwich," a broadsheet of the Wolfe Island Ferry Story Cabal, edited by Steve Guy. Cabalists Jaime Forsythe and Kate Hallemeir will read. Prick up your ears!

Once again, Modern Fuel opens its doors to arts lovers in Kingston, after dark. Come take a tour of the art that downtown Kingston has to offer on the evening of Thursday, September 23, from 7 to 10 pm. Stop by Modern Fuel for its latest exhibition, and visit the fourteen other participating galleries and businesses.

Modern Fuel’s 11th Annual Juried Exhibition will be presented at Modern Fuel from August 8th to September 5th, 2009, with a reception on August 29th from 7pm to 10pm. This year’s guest curator, Steven Loft, will be in attendance at the reception.

Take a stroll downtown and discover over ten downtown galleries on one great night of art, thought and conversation.

Closing Reception

Mark your calendars for Saturday July 12th 2008. From 7pm to 10pm, this closing reception is your chance to celebrate and discuss the underpinnings of the curatorial premise for Modern Fuel's Annual Juried Exhibition, its value to our community, and the work of talented regional artists.

Please join us for the opening reception of Cyborg Hybrids beginning at 7pm at Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre on Thursday October 4th.

On Saturday August 18th beginning at 7pm (Artist's talk at approx 8:30pm) please join us for the closing reception of Isabel's Antidote, the first ever Artel residency sponsored by Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre hosting artist Jessica MacCormack.

This reception will also include a performance by artist Rae Spoon to begin at 9pm.
