Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre is proud to present the Ottawa International Animation Festival's Best of 2009, in partnership with The Screening Room. The program features some of the best animated shorts from Canada, Poland, Ireland, France, Estonia and the United States.

Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre is currently accepting applications for a High Octane Production Residency running from July 27-31, 2010. The residency includes complete use of the New Media Workspace’s video, audio and lighting equipment with the goal of creating a short video work of less than fifteen minutes. The successful applicant will also have access to the New Media Workspace’s editing resources for the week following the Production Residency (August 2-7, 2010).

Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre is currently accepting submissions of video works for Square Pegs III, a screening of short videos by local, national and international artists to be shown in a public space in Kingston, Ontario. Please submit your short videos (max. 15 minutes in length) as an attachment via e-mail to modernfuel@bellnet.ca as well as an artist’s statement and a CV. NTSC DVD and MiniDV submissions will also be accepted.
CARFAC fees will be paid for screenings, http://www.carfac.ca/

Every year Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre is a Recommender for the Ontario Arts Council (OAC) Exhibition Assistance Awards. If your residence falls within zone 4 of the OAC's list of Exhibition Assistance Recommenders (see Map) you may send us your application in correspondance with the requirements of the OAC listed below. The next deadline is July 9, 2010

Modern Fuel's Annual General Meeting for the 2009-2010 fiscal year will be held at the Gallery on Thursday June 17th at 6pm. The AGM will be a brief, one hour meeting so we hope all our members come out.

MODERN FUEL ARTIST-RUN CENTRE is now accepting applications for New Media Workspace Coordinator , a unique and dynamic summer job opportunity in the field of contemporary art and new media!
As the New Media Workspace Coordinator (NMWC) for Modern Fuel, the selected applicant will work 30 hours per week for 13 weeks from June 1 to the end of August 2010.

Modern Fuel is currently seeking submissions for 2011-2012 exhibitions of innovative, contemporary artwork in any visual media. Emerging artists are welcome. Artist fees are paid. Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre facilitates the presentation, interpretation, and production of visual and time-based arts that explore wide-ranging aesthetics and probe a broad scope of formal and socio-cultural questions. We welcome proposals for solo and group exhibitions, performances, curatorial projects, collaborative projects, lectures, workshops and other events. Deadline: postmarked May 1st, 2010.
