Call for Submissions: High Octane Video Production Residency 2014

MODERN FUEL ARTIST-RUN CENTRE is now accepting applications for the 2014 High Octane Video Production Residency. 

The residency lasts for 11 days and, new this year, is available for two individuals to produce video artworks that will be screened during Square Pegs VII, a free-to-attend annual screening of local and national short video works to be held in Market Square on August 13, 2014.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE: One (1) emerging professional artist; one (1) youth under 25 years of age
DURATION: Tuesday, July 22 – Saturday, August 2, 2014 (during gallery hours)
DEADLINE TO APPLY: Friday, July 25, 5:00 PM (applications for youth residency)

The residencies include complete use of the New Media Workspace's audio, video, lighting and editing equipment with the goal of creating a short video work of no more than 15 minutes. In addition, the successful applicant will have access to the New Media Workspace's editing resources. At the end of the residencies, the finished pieces will be screened at Square Pegs. The successful residents will receive an honorarium of $250 that will include CARFAC (http://www.carfac.ca/) screening fees.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Please submit a proposal along with an artist's statement, CV, and an example of your work by July 15, 2014. Only email submissions will be accepted.
