    CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Modern Fuel's 15th Annual Regional Juried Exhibition will be presented at Modern Fuel from 29 June – 10 August 2013. Opening reception 29 June at 7pm. Submission Deadline: 1 June, 2013. Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre invites artists to submit works produced in visual and time-based disciplines such as painting, sculpture, printmaking, video, installation, and sound for our annual juried members’ exhibition.

    Modern Fuel is now seeking proposals for solo and group exhibitions, as well as performances, curatorial projects and other events for its 2014-2015 programming season. Our exhibitions engage with an array of approaches to contemporary aesthetics, and cover a broad scope of conceptual, formal, socio-political and cultural questions.

  • Congratulations to our High Octane Residency Winner!

    CONGRATULATIONS HIGH OCTANE WINNER, JAMES GREATREX

    Proposal: The Discoverer

    This video will be made in collaboration with another local filmmaker, Brent Nurse. While we can't tell you too much, the proposal was "out of this world". Winning High Octane means free use of ALL video equipment , editing, and software. In addition, the video will be shown at our annual Square Pegs V screening in the Square on August 15th. We can't wait to see it!

  • Summer Camp!

    Register weekly for our Saturday morning art camp featuring a new topic each week. This program is designed to outreach to children ages 9-12 and costs only $13.75 to cover the cost of materials. The course is being taught by administrative director Denise Love who has over five years experience teaching children's art and is first aid trained. Topics include: sculpture, painting, tote bag stamping, soapstone carving, photography and much more! Sign up by Wednesday each week to guarantee a spot in this fantastic program!
