MODERN FUEL ARTIST-RUN CENTRE is now accepting applications for New Media Workspace Coordinator , a unique and dynamic summer job opportunity in the field of contemporary art and new media!
As the New Media Workspace Coordinator (NMWC) for Modern Fuel, the selected applicant will work 30 hours per week for 13 weeks from June 1 to the end of August 2010.

Spring Cleaning - April 24th, 12-5pm
Lots of cleaning, sorting junk and painting. A great way to meet people involved at Modern Fuel
Be prepared to get dirty!
Mayworks Installation - April 28th-30th, 12-5pm
Help hang work, set up lighting and put titles on the wall

As an extended part of our Solid Gold Fundraiser, we are holding a raffle of 11 records uniquely altered by some of our member artists. Raffle tickets are each $3 or 2 for $5. For an upcoming exhibition with Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre (Feb. 27 - Apr. 3, 2010), the artist Élène Tremblay requires several volunteers to pose for photographs for a Kingston installment of her ongoing photographic series Les assis / The Sitters. The individuals portrayed in the series appear to have dropped out of the ongoing rush of everyday life.

Modern Fuel's Annual General Meeting for the 2008-2009 fiscal year will be held at the Gallery on Friday May 29th at 5:30pm at Modern Fuel. We are hoping to keep the AGM to a brief, one hour meeting and refreshments will be served.

March 28 lunch -- “How to put Kingston on the cultural map.”
To help create an awareness of the need for a cultural policy, and to generate discussion, I am organising a special luncheon on Friday, March 28 at the Confederation Place Hotel. William D. (Bill) Poole, the Executive Director of the Centre for Cultural Management will be the speaker. His topic is “Putting Kingston of the Cultural Map.” Look up Bill and the Centre on the web to learn more. This event is being sponsored by both the Kingston Arts Council and KEDCO.
