  • Paleofuturity POSTPONED

Modern Fuel is sorry to announce that the show Paleofuturity, with the original dates from January 15 to February 19, 2011, had to be postponed. It has been rescheduled to open on April 30 and run until June 4, 2011. In January, the space adjacent to Modern Fuel experienced extensive vandalism which resulted in a flood in the entire building. Modern Fuel is working with our landlord, the City of Kingston, to repair the damages and to get back into the building and operating normally as soon as possible.

  • The Art Cards are coming!

We are very excited about the Art Cards we are producing as our main fundraiser this year, they will be unveiled November 26th at a launch party. We received overwhelming community support for the cards and had almost three times the number of image submissions as spaces on cards. It is wonderful to have so much enthusiasm for the project however it unfortunately also means that we were unable to give every application a spot in the deck. We thank you all for submitting images.

The following artists were selected for the deck:

  • Photographer Needed

Modern Fuel is looking for a volunteer professional caliber photographer who can help us document our exhibitions on a monthly basis. We would be pleased to provide a $25 honorarium per event for consistent high quality documentation. We host a variety of events such as artists talks, concerts, parties and performances which present an excellent opportunity to develop photography skills in an unusual setting. Experience shooting in a gallery setting would be ideal. All photography is put on our website which receives 2000 unique hits per month with full credit given to the photographer.
