If your residence falls within zone 4 of the OAC's list of Exhibition Assistance Recommenders (see Map) you may send us your application in correspondance with the requirements of the OAC listed below.

    New Media Workspace Assistant

    Job Description:
    In collaboration with the New Media Workspace Coordinator, the New Media Workspace Assistant will be responsible for the promotion and operation of Modern Fuel’s New Media Workspace, including its equipment rentals, and organizing orientation sessions and workshops on the use of said equipment as well as the development and promotion of Square Pegs, a free, annual public screening of artist video shorts submitted to Modern Fuel and Voices Off, a youth oriented series of video workshops.

    Modern Fuel's Annual General Meeting for the 2008-2009 fiscal year will be held at the Gallery on Friday May 29th at 5:30pm at Modern Fuel. We are hoping to keep the AGM to a brief, one hour meeting and refreshments will be served.

  • CubaFest

    Cubafest is coming to Kingston May 1-9th and promises to be a celebration of Cuban culture.

    Modern Fuel is excited to have the opportunity to participate in Kingston's Cubafest by showing works by Cuban Artist Harold Coego in our main gallery and photos of Cuba by Elisa Paloschi in our State of Flux Gallery. The show entitled Transactions of the Eye will run from May 3rd to June 6th.

    Cubafest will be an exciting week, May 1-9th with many events planned including a performance by the Caribe Girls, Gallery tours, film screenings and more.

  • Modern Fumes

    In October, Modern Fuel launched Modern Fumes, a members only weekly e-bulletin which functions as a resource listings for arts and community events in Kingston. Since then we have published 16 issues and have gotten a lot of positive feedback from the community that this was a much needed service. We have also been very lucky to have volunteer Liz Diggon offer to coordinate the e-bulletin every week and Modern Fumes is now regularly sent out at the end of the week.

  • Tables filling up at Aroma

    Just wanted to let everyone know that tables are filling up very quickly at Aroma. There are only nine tables left and Chef Soyic is fairly confident that the night will sell out. If you were planning on attending make a reservation soon or you will miss out! If you aren't interested in dinner but would still like to participate in the silent auction you are welcome to hang out at the bar and grab a glass of wine from Aroma's large selection.
