State of Flux Gallery

Programming Mandate

Like the Main Gallery, the State of Flux’s programming strives to feature critical and exploratory artwork across visual and time-based disciplines. However, due to the smaller size, the State of Flux can be seen more as a project space, open to works in progress or more site specific engagements. It is also a space where preference is given to regional artists as defined by Zone 4 of the Ontario Arts Council.  The Programming Committee of Modern Fuel recognizes the need to bring local and regional artwork to broader attention; the State of Flux gallery directly addresses this, and in tandem with our Main Gallery, provides opportunity for conversation between our visiting artists and the Kingston arts community.
