Activating our new media-oriented Workspace, celebrated Montreal-based artist Anna Hawkins will present an introduction to Adobe After Effects, focusing on chroma key and other video collage techniques. This workshop is pay-what-you-can, but space is limited so registration is required.

Modern Fuel is very pleased to host Governor-General's Award winning poet and playwright George Elliott Clarke for a book reading and signing Saturday, September 27th at 4pm. Clarke will be in Kingston for two events, the second a Saturday Night Speakeasy as part of the Kingston Writer's Festival.

We will welcome into our space four bands over two nights: Lido Pimienta (Columbia/Toronto), Bile Sister (Toronto) Petra Glynt (Toronto) and b0ots (Kingston/Hamilton). Space/seating is limited.

Lynne Marsh: Exhibition as Stage

Join internationally-acclaimed artist Lynne Marsh for this unique hands on workshop: Exhibition as Stage. Marsh's workshop will explore the gallery space as a performative site where the installation of works is thought through as a way to invite the viewer to step on stage, and to position themselves actively in relation to the work(s). Throughout the workshop, Marsh will provide examples of her own working process and those of other artists.
