At 1pm on Saturday, September 30, Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre's Artistic Director Michael DiRisio will lead a tour of our current exhibitions She shells and Associations.

Your Feedback Matters!

Modern Fuel has launched a project to refresh its strategic plan for the next few years, and your input to that conversation would be most welcome. We'd like to thank everyone who participated at our AGM, we gained valuable information from our members as to our direction. In addition to this, we've developed a survey to gain additional feedback from our members and the Kingston community.

Call for Board Members

We are currently accepting applications to join Modern Fuel’s Board of Directors for a 2 year term. The role of board members is to provide stewardship, direction, and assistance to Modern Fuel Artist Run Centre in accordance with Modern Fuel’s mission and mandate. We will be reviewing applications, and electing new board members at our AGM on June 15th at 7pm.

Book Sale Fundraiser

Call for Used Books

Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre is gratefully accepting used books, DVDs and CDs for its 5th Annual Book Sale Fundraiser. This is an important event for the centre, raising funds for programming and operations throughout the year. Our 2016 Fundraiser will be at Skeleton Park Arts Festival on the weekend of June 25 and 26, so stop by and show your support!

We are accepting books on an ongoing basis up until the Fundraiser. Please drop off donations to Modern Fuel located at the Tett Centre, Suite 305, 370 King St W. 

New Media Workspace DIRECTIONS Survey

Modern Fuel's New Media Workspace is seeking input from members and non-members about its direction, events and features. It is also building a Local Talent Database for local Video/Film artist/makers. Please check it out if you interested in the shaping of the NMW's future direction (and even if you aren't a member of the NMW).

QUEEN'S STUDENTS! - WINTER INTERNSHIP AT MODERN FUEL

Modern Fuel offers a half credit student internship each semester in collaboration with Queens University for students in Art History, Fine Art (ARTH 395) and Film Studies (FILM 395). Internships provide a focused opportunity for students to experience multiple facets of the nonprofit contemporary arts environment and offer a practical environment in which students can undertake research, curatorial and administrative activities. Students are required to write a report about their experience and are evaluated jointly by the employer and a faculty member from their department.
