Show and Tell with Visiting Artist Julia Dault

Modern Fuel in conjunction with Queen's University's BFA Program, welcomes Koerner Artist in Residence Julia Dault as our special guest for our popular Show and Tell event. Come show your finished work or work-in-progress and receive feedback from fellow artists in the community. ORANGE CHAIR CAMPAIGN

Modern Fuel presents its annual Members’ Show and Sale from November 15 – December 5, 2014. Part exhibition and part fundraiser, the annual showcase of Members’ work in a range of artistic media is always a highly anticipated event. Funds raised are split 50/50 with artists. This will be the final exhibition at 21 Queen Street for the non-profit Gallery as it prepares to move to the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning in the coming weeks.

UNIBROW: Under the Skin + A Trip to the Moon

Join us at The Screening Room Wednesday, June 11 at 9 PM for a special screening of the much-discussed new film Under the Skin, complete with Steam Whistle beer and pre-show entertainment: George Méliès' 1902 film A Trip to the Moon with a surprise soundtrack!

UNIBROW: Visitors

Please join us at The Screening Room on Wednesday, May 21 at 7 pm for this month's installment of UNIBROW, featuring the experimental documentary Visitors (2014).

Unibrow is a quasi-monthly film series featuring the most exciting art house cinema from around the world. All films play at The Screening Room (120 Princess Street) at 7 pm, are licensed (19+), and include guest introductory speakers.

Whether you are seeing something rare, or something for pleasure by the lakeside, or for your own research and practice, our annual book sale will satisfy. 

Did you miss our Book Sale on at Princess St? We now have MORE in the lobby of Modern Fuel for your perusal! 

All proceeds go towards our relocation and programming. 

Show and Tell Critiques with Jacqueline Hoang Nguyen

In the summer of 2013, Jacqueline Hoang Nguyen presented her popular video 1967: A People Kind of Place as part of our Square Pegs screenings. Now join her for this unique Show and Tell critique session at Modern Fuel on January 29th, at 7pm. Artists can present their work for feedback and conversation in a welcoming and comfortable environment. 

Jacqueline Hoang Nguyen is the 2013-14 Koerner Artist in Residence at Queen's University.

Summer Camp!

Register weekly for our Saturday morning art camp featuring a new topic each week. This program is designed to outreach to children ages 9-12 and costs only $13.75 to cover the cost of materials. The course is being taught by administrative director Denise Love who has over five years experience teaching children's art and is first aid trained. Topics include: sculpture, painting, tote bag stamping, soapstone carving, photography and much more! Sign up by Wednesday each week to guarantee a spot in this fantastic program!

Unfinished Art Sale

As artists we've all done it...bought supplies for an art project and never got around to starting or completing it. Why let these items clutter up your workspace? Bring them down during our office hours Tues-Sat 12-5pm by our new deadline of July 7th at 5pm for donation to our Unfinished Art Sale. We are also accepting unread books, video/computer equipment and unwatched videos.
Then come to the sale Saturday July 14 12-5 to pick up some new project ideas!
