Tax season can bring thoughts of confusion and stress for artists, but only if you’re not prepared for it. Join us in a virtual workshop to get you prepared.
Have your questions about tax preparation, HST, tax deadlines, how to report for grants and all things taxes. Shantae Cunningham, Founder & Senior Associate of Cobella Financial Inc. discusses some important tax topics for artists. The session is suitable for artists who are new to filing their self-employment taxes, new to entrepreneurship or those who are looking for a refresher. This presentation shows real-world life examples of artists and have a Q&A to follow. In this workshop, you get tips and tricks that help you in the future and ensure tax season is less stressful for you year over year. Participants are encouraged to send along their questions in advance for review but rest assured that you can ask any questions that you have during the workshop.

Shantae Cunningham is an Accounting, Bookkeeping, Consultant and Tax expert with 9 years in the industry. She has worked with many industries to help them scale and grow their company from Marketing and PR to E-Commerce and service-based industries. She works with individuals and companies from freelancers to small and medium-sized businesses. With uncompromising attention to detail, Shantae uses her passion for both personal and professional finance has led her into the financial wellness space to also support these businesses. Since 2018, Shantae has worked as an Independent Bookkeeper at her own boutique firm, Cobella Financial Inc. where she provides her clients with a bookkeeping support lifeline and business coaching. Shantae has also provided Business Coaching and Training for SME’s and individuals for 5 years in partnership with Enterprise Toronto, City of Toronto, OCAD University, and more.
She is analytical, experienced, and known as a savvy Accountant. Her personality and business acumen sets her apart. She has volunteered with organizations such as Woodgreen Community Centre to provide tax prep services helping those in all tax situations.
