Thank you for participating in the Making Art Work professional development workshop series co-presented by Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre, Union Gallery, and Agnes Etherington Art Centre. We are looking for feedback from participants of the program to inform future professional development programs. The survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete. Your answers will be anonymous. Thank you for your time!
Call for Jurors
Each year, Modern Fuel invites artists, arts educators, and arts administrators to serve as jurors for upcoming programming, including our Annual Call for Submissions, Annual Juried Exhibitions, Syphon, and artist residency programs. Jurors review applications, score them against Modern Fuel’s Mandate and Evaluation Criteria, and then make recommendations to the Programming Committee. Modern Fuel’s Programming Committee holds final decision making authority.
Modern Fuel is committed to building equitable juries, and will strive, to the best of our ability, to ensure the composition of the jury represents the range of applications in the competition, as well as the gender, demographic, and cultural diversity of our community.
Potential jurors must have an interest in, understanding of, and appreciation for the diversity of the arts. They must be able to work collaboratively, and bring an open-mindedness and generosity of spirit to their assessments and the deliberations. Jurors must declare any conflicts of interest and be able to provide fair and objective opinions.
Modern Fuel does not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or violence including but not limited to ableism, ageism, homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, racism, and white supremacy. If a juror demonstrates any of these behaviours towards other jurors or applicants, they will immediately be asked to leave. All jurors must be willing to engage with one another in a respectful manner.
Jurors will be compensated for their time in accordance with the CARFAC Recommended Fee Schedule.
