Katarokwi/Kingston – Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre (the Centre) is delighted to be the recipient of an Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) $14,900 Capital grant. This grant will allow the Centre to upgrade and expand the technological equipment available within the New Media Workspace, as well as provide its members with the opportunity to use this equipment within their own artistic practices.
I want to congratulate the Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre for receiving Ontario Trillium Grant Funding to purchase equipment for the New Media workspace and to update their media lab. Modern Fuel is an excellent example of organizations enriching Kingston’s culture through their support of contemporary artists working in all disciplines. Congratulations!
~ Ian Arthur, MPP for Kingston and the Islands
As a new media artist myself, I have been regularly hindered in my artistic practice by the financial barriers related to equipment and technology. Modern Fuel’s New Media Workspace is vital to Kingston’s artistic community in removing these financial barriers to creativity and innovation. I am incredibly excited about the support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, and all the incredible work I am certain our artists will be able to produce with the new equipment.
~ Anne-Sophie Grenier, Executive Director of Modern Fuel.
